1Purpose
This policy sets out our commitment to safeguarding children and protecting their welfare in all aspects of our work.
2Scope
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, contractors and partners involved in 'We Can Do It,' Says Larry.
3Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for children. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
4Children's welfare
The welfare of the child is paramount. All decisions and actions must be taken in the best interests of the child.
5Online safeguarding
We apply safeguarding principles to all digital features. See our Online & Digital Safeguarding Policy for detail.
6Responsibilities

7Recognising concerns
We are alert to signs that a child may be at risk of harm, abuse, neglect or exploitation.
8Responding to concerns
All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and responded to promptly. Concerns are recorded and escalated according to our internal procedures.
9Reporting routes

10Child disclosures
If a child discloses harm, we listen, do not interrogate, record what was said, and report to the appropriate authority.
11Professional boundaries

We do not provide unmoderated direct communication between children and adults through our platform.
13Escalation

14Record keeping
Safeguarding records are stored securely and access is restricted. Records are retained according to our retention schedule.
15Confidentiality
Safeguarding information is treated confidentially and shared only with those who need to know.
